Leadership Learning Circle

The purpose of this site is to:
• Provide an overview of the LLC program
• Share what we are learning in the LLC with a broader audience
• Create a resource hub for current and alumni members of the program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The leadership Learning Circle was founded in 2016 by Andrew Steen, with the support of ten other senior leaders in the Canadian Specialty Insurance space. The first annual cohort of the program was launched in 2017. Each progressive cohort has included more participants and an increasingly diverse group of participating organizations.

Program Details

The Leadership Learning Circle is an annual program that brings together high potential leaders from a wide variety of Specialty Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers and other industry vendors. The monthly sessions rotate between participating companies and are comprised of two parts. In the first hour of each session, the group discusses specific leadership topics with a CEO or other senior industry leader. After the CEO leaves the meeting, the group has a dialogue on a particular leadership opportunity or challenge they are facing.

Purpose

The purpose of the Leadership Learning Circle is to bring an additional growth dimension to our emerging leaders. The LLC was designed to supplement the proprietary learning programs that exist inside each participating company. We create a unique learning opportunity by providing access and insight from a variety of senior leaders, and by enabling interaction in a high quality peer network.

Goal

The goal of the Leadership Learning Circle is to accelerate Leadership Development for high potential leaders in the Specialty Insurance community; and create an environment where emerging leaders learn from each other and from exposure to Senior Industry Leaders.

Benefits

The benefits of the program include: Monthly meetings with senior industry executives, peer networking and coaching; exposure to a variety of perspectives and backgrounds; building a strong professional network that will enable career-long learning and relationships.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Participation in the Leadership Learning Circle is based on nomination by your CEO or other executive leader in your organization. We gather nominations in September and October each year. Participants are selected and confirmed late in the year, and the cohort begins in January.
